Evening Sun

There is beauty in the sunlight
and the soft blue beams above
Oh, the world is full of beauty
when the heart is full of love.

My Special Place

How I love the gulf beach, the white sugar sands,
the clear water near the shore, so clear
you can see the schools of young fish swimming
about your feet.
Occasionally, a big fish swims by and it
seems as if you could reach out and touch it.
The small jelly fish, floating like tiny blue balloons,
and looking for sandollarz, diving to gather
a few to hold gently in our hands, watching
sea gulls soar overhead, and sandpipers
scamper on the wet sand.

I love to watch the water recede, the tiny clams
scurry to dig back in,
Their little shells shining in shades of
pearls and of sunset, and if you look close,
you can find a nice shell to bring home
for your memories.
Early morning walks on the beach are
wonderful. The tide having just
receded, leaving all kinds of 'treasures'
for us to gather.

I find my spot to sit watching the fishing boats as they
troll near the shoreline, or perhaps it's just sightseers,
searching for the beauty and peace found there.
Then the sailboats take to the waters,
with their many and brightly colored
sails shining in the sunlight.
The jet skiers ride the surf while we sit and
enjoy the view, relaxing as the sun warms and
tans and carries away the 'blues'.

As the day comes to a close, nothing is
more beautiful than the sun as it sets.
Looking as though it settles down to sleep
into the deep blue water.
I could stay there forever, just watching
and relaxing.
As night settles on the beach,
I retreat to my room and my balcony.

There I watch as night falls over the
now black looking water, waiting for the moon
to bring it's soft glow as the stars twinkle, a
few boats, anchored so far on the horizon,
they appear as stars touching the water.
I wonder who they are and what they are doing
way out there, perhaps watching just like me.
I love the gulf beaches, none other are so
beautiful to me.
